WHO should be tested for gBRCAm?

Test all patients

  • Test all patients with confirmed pancreatic cancer for inherited mutations including gBRCAm at diagnosis to help inform therapy
  • In the POLO trial, 3315 eligible patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer underwent screening. 247 (7.5%) of these patients had a germline BRCA mutation2
  • In another study of patients with pancreatic cancer, among those with a genetic mutation (n=167), >80% had no family history of pancreatic cancer3

WHEN should testing be done?

Test at diagnosis

  • At diagnosis, collaborate with your multidisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate prompt genetic testing for inherited mutations, including for BRCA mutations

gBRCAm should be determined by an FDA-approved companion diagnostic for LYNPARZA.4

WHY test all patients?

Test to inform treatment options

  • gBRCA testing may help to inform treatment choices, including potential eligibility for olaparib (LYNPARZA), a targeted maintenance therapy for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer and gBRCAm whose disease has not progressed on ≥16 weeks of first-line platinum-based chemotherapy1,4
